A Muzarabani N’anga has denied charges that he robbed an Avenues thigh vendor saying the woman was just fixing him after he demanded cash for serviced rendered.

The Traditional Healer told the court that he had been contracted by the prostitute to provide charms that would help her to “attract more clients”

The youthful Sangooma, 25-year old, Serious Hodzi, fro Chihota Village, was hauled before a Harare magistrate on Wednesday accused of stealing $300 from the woman who had summoned him for help using his occult powers.

Prosecutor, Progress Maringamoyo, said the woman, who resides at Vaida Rhodes flats in the capital, summoned Hodzi to help recover her stolen cash amounting to US$1,800 and 1000 rands.
Court heard that, on the day in question and at around 1800 hours, the woman welcomed the “healer” into her home to conduct the recovery “rituals” and made him wait in her spare bedroom alone while she took a bath.

Taking advantage of the woman’s absence from the room, Hodzi is alleged to have stolen US$3 which was on a television stand as well as a wallet which had US$300 from the wardrobe and vanished.
When the complainant came out of the bathroom, she tried to call the healer but his phone was never answered.

However, in his defence, Hodzi denied charges saying he only took what belonged to him after the woman refused to pay for his services.

He claimed that the woman had a perennial bleeding problem which was turning away clients, adding he managed to “heal her”.

“I also assisted her friends to get more clients using my spiritual powers. They all paid but she was evasive so I went (to her home) to demand my dues directly.

“When I got in her house, there was US$1,500 spread on the bed but instead of giving me my US$200 she offered to have s-ex with me which I refused,” he said.

The traditional healer said the woman was lying that she wanted help to recover her stolen money, insisting she was trying to fix him for taking his dues and refusing to have s-ex with her.

Magistrate Batanai Madzingira deferred the case to Thursday for trial continuation.
