Former child star Ricardo Groenewald passed away on Wednesday night at the age of 43.
According to eNCA, the singer had been battling cancer for a long time and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Tygerberg Hospital on Tuesday.
Groenewald's death comes just days after a special benefit concert held for him by friends in the music industry.
The singer became a household name with the release of his hit song 'I love you daddy' in 1987 at the age of eight.
