Jonah Lomu |
The Zimbabwe rugby fraternity has joined the rest of the world in mourning New Zealand rugby legend Jonah Lomu who passed away in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Lomu is remembered for leaving an indelible mark on the rugby scene after bursting into the world stage at the 1995 World Cup.
Lomu had been diagnosed with a rare and serious kidney condition.
When interviewed by the Daily Mail in August, Lomu said he was on dialysis and hoping for a second kidney transplant.
The New Zealand legend made his test debut in 1994 and went onto score 43 tries in 73 matches for his country.
At the recent world cup held in England, Lomu dazzled rugby fans when he performed the haka in Coven Square in London, days before the commencement of the world rugby extravaganza. ZBC
