Zimbabwean videos are fast making impressions on social media sites such as You Tube with overwhelming responses from diaspora fans.

On Monday night, the Ebenezer-Tirimunyasha hit video became third to Jah Prayzah’s Watora mari and Amara and Tytan’s Mukoko to all hit the one million viewership mark this year.

Even if Reverend Toggy Chivariro and Friends’ effort lasted a whole year or more to reach Canaan, history has been made by the gospel artistes from our land who worked together on the piece.

The video features top gospel artistes that include Baba Manyeruke, Baba Charamba, Rumbie Zhirikuzhe, Pastor Haisa, Bethany Pasinawako, Kudzie Nyakudya, Noel Zembe, Reverend Chivarioro and wife Juliet.

To come and think of it, the video concept according to Chovariro, was not part of the album, it came as a drama which he transformed into a gap cover and later became the album title.

Reverend Chivariro had recorded nine other studio albums before Ebenezer, his tenth effort. He also defied the odds and collaborated with a couple of artistes to give his fans something to look forward to in his changing person.

“I had to look for something new in my music career which was spanning to 10 years. I had a huge burden to name the album after completing it and God spoke to me in a dream to try something with different artistes whom I then approached and agreed to work with me and we recorded the song.

The technical aspects wasn’t even well done at all (in fact we have just recently done a much better quality version now). The song was never recorded at one of the most technically astute studios, neither did a renowned producer put a hand to it,” said Chivariro.

When Chivariro sat to record, he was certainly no tone of the top gospel artistes in the game. To date the video has been awarded Best Collaboration in Africa and still making waves on the international platform.

He says God has plans for each one of us. ‘God works in mysterious ways, our thoughts are not His. There’s something God has deposited upon your life, just pursue it with faith and passion and see how God will surprise you.

Don’t be limited by how you think you will achieve, how resourced you are, how connected you are or how you have tried and failed, God has bigger plans for you,” added Chivariro. Chivariro is also riding on his latest DVD offering titled Mhepo Inoperekedza which he launched recently, launched together with two books he wrote with his wife.
