Hillary Clinton's lead in the popular vote is now more than TWO MILLION ballots

In the lead: Hillary Clinton now has a lead of 2,015,251 ballots in the popular vote - that's 1.5 per cent of the vote. It will take weeks to count all of the postal votes and provisional ballots

She may have lost the Electoral College, but Hillary Clinton is continuing to rack up the popular votes, with her lead over Donald Trump expanding to 2million Wednesday.

David Wasserman of the nonpartisan Cook Report tweeted the result Wednesday, as her lead increased to 1.5 per cent of the vote.

She's expected to continue pulling ahead of Trump as the counts continue - with millions alone being counted in deep blue California - and may be on track for a record-breaking lead of 2.5million.

The count is continuing to increase because of postal votes and provisional ballots, both of which take longer to process than can be counted just on the Election Night.

According to the Cook Report, Clinton's ballot count is now at 64,225,863 -compared to Trump's 62,210,612. That's a lead of 2,015,251.

There are still millions more votes to be counted, and it's believed that most of those will be for Clinton. It will take California alone two more weeks to certify its final counts.
