Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says the club are happy with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and will trigger the one-year option to extend his contract.

The 35-year-old striker arrived at Old Trafford on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain during the off-season after a successful stint with the French giants.

And despite not proving to be as prolific with the Red Devils thus far this season, Mourinho insists he his happy with the Swedish star’s performances in the first four month of the season.

“Zlatan’s situation is simple,” he said in a press conference. “He has one plus one. We are happy with him. “We are going to execute the option of a second season. After that he can do what he wants.”

Ibrahimovic has netted eight times in 17 appearances in all competitions for United this term.
