SOUTH AFRICA – Ajax Cape Town defender Cecil Lolo has died in a car crash, his agent Grant Nieuwenhuys confirms.
According to Nieuwenhuys, 27-year-old Lolo died in a head-on collision in the early hours of this morning in Khayelitsha.
Nieuwenhuys adds that he was the only person in the car and a detailed autopsy will be released on Monday.
“He was certainly generating some interest from some bigger clubs in Jo’burg, because that was his ambition to go to Johannesburg. And now this unfortunate accident happened,” Nieuwenhuys said to eNCA.
Lolo’s tragic death comes almost a year after Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa was killed on 26 October 2014. Sowetan
