The battle for huge congregants in Harare and the most miracles, pitting Prophet Walter Magaya and Pastor Paul Sanyangore has taken a new twist.Prophet Sanyangore in a move to steal followers has relocated his church to within a few kilometres from Magaya’s base.
Sanyangore was traditionally at Mbare but is said to have moved close to Magaya at the Trade Centre in Waterfalls.
Word doing rounds is that Sanyangore is plotting against Magaya. Plans are that he will be putting radio ads to promote his new venue. This is a clear indication that he is challenging Magaya for a large following and copying strategies.
Beverly Sibanda who was converted at Magaya’s church was also seen at Sanyangore’ s church. “It was Bev first and now this. All the miracles he does are reminiscent of Magaya” said the source.
However,Sanyangore denied plotting against Magaya saying he left Mbare because of the approaching rainy season.
“I do not know where you get your stories. What is it that I have done? Is it wrong for me to move?
“I have been in Mbare yes, but the rainy season is fast approaching and there is need to shelter the congregants.
“Initially we were supposed to go to the Glen Eagles industrial area and we got a warehouse there but some people went and bid for the place and we were frozen out.
“We got this new place next to the Trade Centre not that we are after Magaya.I am actually a big fan of Prophet Magaya and I wish to have a meeting with him,”.
Some claim Sanyangore had betrayed his Mbare following as he was on record that he will not leave the suburb.
“I know I said I will not leave Mbare and it was actually a blessing that we did not get the Glen Eagles Venue. “Trade Centre is just a walkable distance from Mbare,” he said.
Several allegations have been raised against Sanyangore ,some suspecting that he fakes miracles to get attention most recent reports being that he performed a resurrection miracle.
