A policeman attached to the Border Control Unit in Beitbridge last Friday hanged himself after his wife fell in love with his best friend.
Donald Fambawapota (32) had separated from his wife for eight months and they were living separately.
In recent weeks Fambawapota however, got jealousy after getting wind that his best friend and work-mate had moved in with his estranged wife and were having quality sex everyday as the two would be heard making groaning sounds during sex everyday.
To make matters worse, the wife went on to make maintenance claims for a child they had together with 'officer' Fambawapota.
The policeman then confronted his wife and allegedly beat her up for dating his best friend. He then went to Police Station and made a report.
When the wife eventually went to report the matter at Beitbridge Police Station she was shocked to find that she was in fact the one accused and was facing a $20 fine which she paid and left.
Fambawapota is alleged to have raided the two lovebirds again but this time he was charged and he was summoned to appear in court last Friday.
However, he hung himself at the house where he was a tenant in the Shule Shule area of Dulibadzimu suburb before he appeared in court.
His father Simon Fambabwapota of Makoni District in Manicaland using burial order number 843/2015 issued at Beitbridge collected the deceased policeman's body last Sunday for burial at his rural home.
Beitbridge Police referred all questions to their provincial offices in Gwanda where calls went unanswered until the time of going to press.
