Teen hookers instant hit as older ones see red

TEEN se_x workers have invaded almost all available spaces of operation in ghettos and cities, forcing older pr_ostitutes out of the game.

The teenagers, most of whom have joined the oldest profession due to desperation, are a favourite of older men who include government officials, business and company executives.

Since the ConCourt’s ruling over prostitution last year, young girls — some barely 16 years old — have gone out in droves, invading streets searching for clients.

In areas they operate from, elderly men driving flashy cars are seen negotiating with the teen se_x workers, ignoring the older ones.

Tanaka Nyoni, 52, a se_x worker in Epworth, Harare said their market has been taken over by these young girls, forcing her to recruit three teens who work for her.

“I discovered that the men now prefer these young girls — we are out of business — and the only way for me to survive is to give the men what they want. The young girls!

“I wish to recruit more because at the moment the three make $30 each per day. I cannot get that myself today because some of these young ones are beautiful and still looking fresh.”

Nyoni said because of the competition, some of the girls are charging as little as $2 with others negotiating up to $25.

“The older men pay better and they can pay you as much as $25 for a short session. These normally do want se_x the whole night and some of them are top executives and businessmen.” Kelly Gorivanda, who has been a se_x worker for 20 years and plying her trade in Epworth, told the Weekend Post that women cannot just die of hunger while God has given them bodies which they can use to make money. “It is survival of the fittest because no one wants to starve.

There are no jobs and the only way out for most of us is to sell our bodies. You cannot just sit and watch your children go hungry.”

Gorivanda said while all was well and clients were coming to ask for their services, things had just changed because there are too many young girls competing with them.

“All the customers with real money are being taken by these young girls. I have a few regular clients who still ask for my services but most are running away to these teens.”

While Gorivanda started off selling drinks, she later realised that some women were making more money operating as se_x workers.

“When I joined the profession some years back, I could make at least $250 a day. That was a lot of money as I could not make that through selling drinks. But now the money is not that much because of stiff competition. And nowadays young girls are not shy anymore to be se_x workers, some are even sent by their parents to join in the hunt.”

Carolyn Dube, 17, a se_x worker said after failing to get a job having completed her secretarial course, she was forced into prostitution.

“It is the easiest way out of this economic mess we find ourselves in. You do not need an employer, an office or any starting capital. It is just your body that use to make money, just simply that.”

Dube said older se_x workers had to move and give them the space. “They are moving out every day because they cannot stand the heat. At times, we have witnessed fights over clients as the men cross over to the young girls.”—Bianca Rugeje
