Prophet wanted by Police on allegations of fraud

Prophet Passion Java of Kingdom Embassy is at odds with some congregants for allegedly duping them of cars, public address system and a television set.

Tempers flared on Wednesday after congregants turned against him, which saw the intended church service at Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex ending prematurely. Contacted for comment, prophet Passion who spoke through his aide Israel Mateyu, promised to furnish H-Metro with finer details of what transpired.

However, he had not responded by the time of going to print. “Prophet will contact you soon and give his side if the story, thank you,” said Israel.

A church member, Chido Pamela Mangi allegedly lost her Toyota Chaser after prophet borrowed it in March but never took it back in April as agreed.

She then confronted him on Wednesday at the church in an attempt to recover her car but to no avail. Another congregant, only identified as Humba, was approached by the prophet who wanted to use his E230 Mercedes Benz. He struggled to recover it but it is claimed the car had been damaged when he regained it.

Joining the list is one Tatenda Kangai, who claimed that prophet is in possession of a 51-inch colour television plasma, which he refused to pay for.

Following the confrontation by Chido, prophet left Chitungwiza Acquatic Complex prematurely on Wednesday. Chido alleges that prophet assaulted her and she lodged a complaint at Harare central police station around 10pm. “

Prophet lied to me that he wanted to remove his belongings from my vehicle when we got to one of the flats in the Avenues area. He is the one who asked for help after he failed to hire a car to use since he had no money and I agreed with my husband to give him the vehicle for a month.

Within a month, he had already damaged the vehicle while driving and he opted to give us US$3 500 or repair the vehicle but we refused and insisted that we wanted to take our vehicle back.

We could not seed it against our will and that is why I was forced to demand the car on Wednesday. Church haina kupindwa vanhu vakawanda vachisa mari dzavo dzimwe dzema speakers and many things he took in good faith but is no longer returning them.

He pushed me off the vehicle threatening to call Presidential guards from State House after he failed to dump me in the Avenues. He drove me at a high-speed and I had to shout for help to draw people’s attention, which prompted me to lodge a complaint with the police.

My family gave him a place for worshipping in Seke and because of his behavior, we are no longer comfortable seeing him conduct his services there,” said Chido.

In another interview, one of his alleged victims Tatenda told H-Metro that prophet refused to pay him US$600 for a television set he is currently using at his house.

“Prophet begged me to sell my TV to him the day he held a church conference in Chitungwiza and I was surprised that he took it to his home claiming that I ‘seeded’ it to God.

I never seeded my television set to God and I still have remote control gadget of that television set and efforts to recover my money are futile. Ndinoita zvekugadzira ma electrical goods ndinotambura asi iye akuita chitsotsi nezita raMwari, hazvikomborere,” said Tatenda.
