A 35-YEAR-OLD bridegroom was arrested moments after tying the knot at the Harare magistrates’ court last Thursday.
Simbarashe Mutarisi of Glen View 1 in Harare, was arrested moments after exchanging vows with his wife Isabel Mapfumo, 31.
Mutarisi and his wife tied the knot before magistrate Victoria Mashamba. Mutarisi is believed to have been arrested for defaulting paying maintenance for the child he sired with another woman.
The 35-year-old was taken to the Harare Central police station.
“He was very lucky that he was arrested after all the proceedings were done. “The woman, who came with the police, wanted to storm into courtroom at the midst of the wedding and stop proceedings.
“She was fuming claiming that the man who just wedded had children with her and was failing to pay maintenance.
“She also claimed that the man (Mutarisi) ditched her and went to marry the woman he wedded today. “The woman claims that her former lover owes her a lot of money in maintenance arrears,” said an H-Metro mole.
