HARARE – Superstar Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi will be unveiling a new album Ehe Kani Nhai Yahweh this month in Norton.

The album will be launched on September 22 at his multi-million dollar Pakare Paye Arts Centre, situated 40 kilometres away from the capital.

Mtukudzi’s manager Sam Mataure confirmed the development.

“The September 22 event will be for the invited guests while a mega concert will be held at Borrowdale Country Manor, Harare on September 30 and this will be the platform where the public will witness Tuku performing the album,” that was all Mataure could say.

With over 60 albums under his name, Tuku has established his influence not only in the country but on the entire globe at large. He has seen it all in the industry as he began his artistic journey in 1977.

Tuku last released his 63rd album, Mukombe WeMvura in 2014.

The star began performing in 1977 when he joined the Wagon Wheels, a band that also featured Thomas Mapfumo. Their single Dzandimomotera went gold and Tuku’s first album followed, which was also a major success.

He has received a number of accolades in his career, including being the Unicef Goodwill Ambassador for the southern Africa region.
