MDC Vice President and Kuwadzana Member of Parliament Advocate Nelson Chamisa, is set to graduate as a Pastor after completing pastoral and theological studies, having been a student pastor in a three year programme at the Living Waters Theological Seminary.
The graduation ceremony is set for Friday, the 25th of November 2016 at the Tynwald Seminary campus in Harare. Chamisa, a lawyer by profession is a devout Christian who has not hesitated to step forward and be open about his faith.
The young legislator regularly shares biblical scriptures on social media, especially his Facebook page under the name Face-to-Face with Nelson Chamisa.
The Living Waters Theological Seminary has been in existence for 42 years having been founded in 1974 by Rev Wilson, a Missionary from the U.S.A.
The Seminary was then known as the Rhodesia African Theological College. Reverend Ronald Kinnear later changed the college’s name to Living Waters Theological Seminary under the leadership of Dr Gerald Rozzell as Principal from 1982 to 1990.
The Living Waters Theological Seminary is one of the best theological training seminaries in Africa training pastors in the greater Southern Africa.
Over the years, under the leadership of the Apostolic Faith Mission, the seminary has earned itself international recognition, attracting students from various countries such as Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, DRC, Zambia, South Africa and Mozambique.
Reverend Lovejoy Chabata is the head of the seminary with Rev Irene Chatora being the Campus Coordinator and Rev Wellington Shamiso Manyumwa being the Dean of students.
Living Waters Theological Seminary is a leader and pacesetter in theological and pastoral development within Southern Africa harvesting the world for Jesus Christ.
Some of the prominent personalities to have come out of Living Waters Theological Seminary include Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa, Apostle Bwutabwashe, Musician Pastor Charles Charamba, the Murefu brothers (Dr C Murefu and Rev T.I Murefu), the Mutemererwas and renowned Evangelist the Late Fanuel Chiweshe.
The seminary enrols, educates, grooms, develops and equips men and women from the vast variety of backgrounds into solid leaders and credible ministers.
