29 Africans made the 2015 Forbes’ billionaires annual ranking out of the 1,826 of the world’s richest people.

The billionaires were from nine African countries comprising of eight Egyptians having net worth of $1 billion and above, representing the highest number of billionaires on the continent.

Others are South Africa with seven billionaires, Nigeria has five, Morocco three, Tanzania two, Swaziland one, Angola one, Algeria one, and Uganda with one billionaire.

Nigeria business tycoon, Aliko Dangote maintained the lead as the richest man in Africa with net worth of $15.7 billion despite falling stock prices and a recent devaluation of his country’s currency, Naira that dented his fortune by $10 billion.

The second richest man in Africa is Johann Rupert & Family, with wealth worth $7.4 billion, followed by Nicky Oppenheimer & Family with net worth of $6.7 billion. They are both from South Africa. Read more here
