A total of 3 451 graduands from the University of Zimbabwe have been conferred with doctorates, masters of philosophy and first degrees by President Robert Mugabe, who is the Chancellor of the institution.
Among the undergraduates, there are 91 medical doctors, seven dentists, 50 pharmacists, 124 engineers, 93 agricultural experts, 389 accountants and 136 lawyers.
The Diamond Jubilee graduation, which is coinciding with celebrations to mark the institution's 60 years of service, has a record 101 graduands from the nine faculties being awarded first class passes and 635 post graduate being capped by the President.
The total number of this year's graduands include 2 812 undergraduates 602 masters graduands, 18 master of philosophy graduands and 14 doctor of philosophy graduands. ZBC
