CBZ Academy finalist and Los Angeles-based Zimbabwean musician, Tapiwa ‘Taps’ Mugadza, scaled new heights, receiving recognition from the United States Billboard for his rendition of Adele’s, Hello.
Taps’ performance of the the song was rated as one of the best 11 soul stirring covers, alongside with award-winning artistes such as Joe Thomas, Joe Jonas and The Maccabees.
Taps’ cover, at 1,5 million, had more YouTube views than Joe Thomas’s 1,1 million.
Taps, raised in an orphanage in Harare, started his professional music career at Celebration Ministries, where he was part of the choir. He later moved to LA to further his studies and music career. Newsday
