The wait is over and the stage has been set. The much-hyped “2016 Igintion Concert” featuring Jah Prayzah, Winky D and Lady Storm takes place tonight at 7Arts Theatre in Avondale.
The concert will bring talent and stage expertise together as Jah Prayzah and Winky D will be on a mission to prove why they are ranked men of the moment.
Lady Storm is set for her big announcement after gaining massive popularity through her role as “Eriza” is Jah Prayzah’s popular video.
Winky D will be celebrating the success of his hit, “Disappear”, that made it into the top five of BBC Radio 1Extra Destination Africa charts.
The hit has become an anthem in local showbiz and there have been many versions to “Disappear” confirming the song’s massive popularity.
Jah Prayzah is riding on a wave of the popularity of his “Jerusarema” album that has been enhanced by the release of his DVD. Known as “musoja” Jah Prayzah is good at stage performances and his acts have often brought down auditoriums with excitement.
And the duo’s combination has proved powerful over the past years with the latest exciting affair being their New Year’s Eve concert at the Harare International Conference Centre that left lasting impressions.
Lady Storm has revealed her intention to change her stage name to Eriza after the video that brought her overnight popularity.
She has been in the industry for many years but Jah Prayzah’s video has catapulted her to fame. She got a slot at the concert courtesy of her newly-found fame and she has declared she will show people more than what she exhibited on the “Eriza” video.
The video has also brought the school uniform craze that has become part of Jah Prayzah’s shows.
Jah Prayzah’s fans have been attending his shows clad in school uniforms and organisers of the Ignition Concert have promised to reward best dressed fans in school uniform as well as the “ninja gear” that is associated with Winky D’s stage attire.
“One best dressed male fan in school uniform and another in ninja gear will get bottles of whiskey while two best dressed females in the attires will get bottles of a cream liquor of their choice.
We just want a lot of fun during the event. We want to have fun on stage and fun in the crowd.
“It has to be a unique event,” noted the organisers.
