Motor Action Football Club Founder Eric Rosen was laid to rest at Greendale Cemetery yesterday.  A church service to honour the life of Rosen was held at Nazareth House Catholic Church on Friday morning.

Friends, relatives, football fans, players, current and former administrators then proceeded to Motor Action Sports Club for a ceremony to honour the life of Rosen.

Those that took to the podium spoke highly about Rosen who will forever be remembered for his contribution to Zimbabwean sport. From Motor Action Sports Club, Rosen’s body was then ferried to Greendale Cemetery, his final resting place.

A befitting send off it was for a man whose hard work and perseverance saw him becoming one of the few administrators to manage an individually owned team in the PSL topflight for over a decade.

Meanwhile, former Motor Action players have hailed Rosen for his contribution in uplifting the lives of several footballers.

When Eric Rosen purchased the franchise of Blackpool Football Club in 1999, not many would have thought the Motor Action founder would make such an impact with the Mighty Bulls.

Apart from building a club that came to be feared on the domestic front after clinching the 2010 premiership title, Rosen would uplift the lives of several footballers that represented his club.

Edward Tembo, Salim Milanzi and Alvin Ndunduma have all hailed Rosen’s contribution in changing their lives.

Given his contribution in aiding the development of Zimbabwean football, Rosen has without doubt left an indelible mark on the Zimbabwean football landscape. Sportbrief
