This is an imposing mansion being built by a prophet along Enterprise Road in Harare. The picture was shared by David Coltart on social media who said it was difficult to accurately depict in the photograph how massive this house is.
The crane gives some indication – cranes like these are normally used for the construction of high raise buildings. I am reliably informed that the house also has an “infinity pool” – i.e. on set on the edge of a steep drop which seems to stretch out into infinity.
This mansion has presumably been built on the back of givings made by thousands of pitifully poor Zimbabweans who have been told that if they give generously, they too will become rich.”
Coltart added : “Of course many of us live relatively lavish lifestyles and I am no exception – my own home, although modest compared to the mansion depicted, is lavish when compared to the vast majority of Zimbabwean homes. So all of us are subject to this standard.
It is also true that there is no prohibition in the Bible against becoming wealthy, just warnings that wealth can be a trap which leads us away from God.
However my point is that massive wealth which is created, and justified, by the proclamation of a distorted interpretation of the gospel is the very antithesis of all that Jesus stood for and preached about.”
Coltart did not name the prophet.
