Jonas Kasamba has settled well back at Mberikwazvo

Jonas Kasamba
Barely a month after his return to the band that gave him fame and some measurable fortune, revered chanter and choreographer Jonas “Baba Sofia” Kasamba is well settled at Orchestra Mberikwazvo, Zimrealnews has learnt.

The gifted artiste who is credited for creating Mberikwazvo’s celebrated dances and chants says he feels happy to be home and will give 150 per cent effort as they take the brand to the good old days.

Speaking through Macheso’s Publicist, Tich Makahamadze, Kasamba revealed that Mberikwazvo is a dynamic outfit which keeps fine tuning itself to remain relevant in the cut-throat industry.

“Kune zvakawanda mudhara kumusic. Dancehall is here plus many other genres but Mberikwazvo yaremera industry mudhara. We are already introducing new dances like mushika shika dance and fans should brace for more especially with the coming new album. Hatiperi fast mudhara,” he said.

Makahamadze revealed that everyone was embracing Joe upon his return because he is family and though a family member may travel away on fortune hunts, they are always welcome home.

“Joe is one with us and we are happy with the positive energy that he has brought with him. It’s a whole new experience and those that have not come to our shows are missing out. With the new album it’s going to be even more exciting and fans won’t have enough of us”, said Tich.

Speaking to Zimrealnews, band Manager Lucky Macheso said they will always make sound decisions for the good of the Mberikwazvo brand.

“Mberikwazvo is not some small time band where you can afford the luxury of fun experiments and cheap stunts. We are a big institution and because we serve multitudes of fans we need to be sober and incisive in how we deal with issues.

There is no room for emotions if you want to steer a brand like this to great heights. We do embrace advice and criticism and will always make decisions that are not selfish but work to the advantage of our brand. We are blessed to have people that come to us with both counsel and criticism and that keep us going,” Macheso said.
