Jah Prayzah reveals name of his forthcoming album

Jah Prayzah
MUSICIAN Jah Prayzah has revealed the title of his forth-coming album due for release on Defence Forces Day.

Titled Mudhara Vachauya, the name, which in street lingo seems to suggest that ‘game-changers’ will certainly come, has since sent tongues wagging with musical fans likely to brace for a ‘lyrical’ warfare, albeit musically!

The lanky performer made the revelation at his family show held at Jongwe Corner last Sunday where he shared the stage with dancehall star Hwindi president and Potifa Mopo.

“We have finally come up with the title of the album, it’s called Mudhara Vachauya. It will be released on Defence Forces Day, ndatenda hangu,” said the lanky performer, much to the thunderous applause from loyal fans who call themselves Team JP.

Many a critic feels the 28-year-old star might be prepared to trade lyrical shots with other top artistes of who have either released or are on the verge of releasing their respective albums.

To date, sungura ace – Alick Macheso – enjoys rave reviews following the success of his tenth album Tsoka Dzerwendo, which saw him ending his four year album drought.

Revered crooner Leonard Zhakata is reportedly in the studio working on an album due for release next month.

Jah Prayzah’s buddy Suluman Chimbetu is yet to finalise dates when his album will be released while Peter Moyo has promised an accompanying DVD to his second album, Mabasa aMwari.

In an interview, Jah Prayzah said it was up to fans to make their assessment of the title of his album, which is likely to trigger a lot of debate among his followers and arts critics.

“I don’t have much to say but it’s up to people to make their own opinions. I know it will be interpreted in different ways but to me, I’m just doing my job as an artiste.

“Arts is life and people are always entitled to their opinions,” he said.

Jah Prayzah said he was pleased with the response of the songs off his forth-coming album with fans already singing along to such tracks as Goto, Seke Mutema and Hossana.
