Rebecca Malope |
South African gospel diva Rebecca Malope is ready to excite Harare with her classic praise and worship tunes when she performs at Harare Gardens on May 28 with many other local female gospel musicians.
According to organizers of the show, Malope is ecstatic about returning to Zimbabwe for another dance with her local fans. She will share the stage with local female gospel musicians that include Mai Charamba, Mercy Mutsvene, Amanda Sagonda, Joyce Simeti and Olinda Marowa among many others.
“Malope is really excited about coming back to Zimbabwe. She enjoyed the show the last time she was here and says she has been missing her fans whom she is ready to excite with her music,” said the organisers.
“She has visited the country on numerous occasions and knows the hits that her local fans enjoy. She said we should tell her fans that she has some new stuff for them and they should look forward to an energetic performance as usual.”
Malope will be leading the list of female musicians in the concert dubbed “Gospel Divas” that seeks to promote and celebrate female musicians.
The Gospel Divas concert has been hosted by Red Rose Entertainment for many years and has successfully proved that women can stand their ground in the male-dominated industry.
Red Rose Entertainment came up with the idea after realising that most promoters were shunning female musicians and going for male singers at most shows. More than 10 local female musicians will have a chance to showcase their talents and Malope will cap the concert with her golden classics and new songs.
She is known for leaving a mark whenever she visits the country and fans will be ready for another memorable occasion.
