Econet wishes to advise its valued customers to properly register their SIM cards with Econet in accordance with the Statutory Instrument 95 of 2014 which came into effect on the 13th of June 2014.
Econet-Notice

Section 4(2) of SI 95/2014 compels service providers to verify the full names, surname, ID number, address and identity of each customer. Econet customers are therefore required to produce copies of their National ID or passport and complete registration forms giving their correct details.

Econet will also be using utility bills, lease agreements, affidavits of landlords, letters from chiefs or headmen, headmasters or letters from employers as proof of permanent address.

Foreign citizens will be required to produce a valid passport. Corporate or registered organisations should provide copies of their Certificate of Incorporation, Register of Directors, and completed forms duly signed by authorised personnel. All Econet subscribers are required to comply with these registration requirements.

Please take note that any line not properly registered will be deactivated from the network. Visit any Econet shop or selected retail outlets to register your SIM card to avoid being disconnected.
