On the Red Coach is a series which show cases Zimbabwean/African artists profiles. This week, we are featuring one of Zimbabwe's top Gospel artist based in the United Kingdom. For most people who follow Zimbabwe Gospel music, he needs no introduction.
From the Gokwe province of Zimbabwe, a son was born. He was no ordinary son, indeed not. But a son uniquely and unmatchably talented. And in his talent is a possession of wholesome versatility & fascination, limitedlessness, energeticness and high skilfulness.
He is a son who is selfless; who prides in motivating, enriching, inspiring and raising others up. He is a son with a heart of devotion; a heart of compassion; and a heart of generosity.
He is a son committed to far-reaching purposefulness in whatever he embarks on. A son whose destiny we are yet to witness. We know him as Obert Mazivisa.
Obert started singing while heading cattle in the bushes of Gokwe, in his childhood. And as he grew up, especially as a maturing and dedicated Christian, his passion for singing, song writing and entertaining advanced as in the maturing of wine that becomes sweeter and more distinctive as it ages. Obert performs gospel, praise and worship, and love songs, in distinguishable expertise. These songs are hemmed in his desire to proclaim the great salvation we have in Jesus to the world, by giving profound messages emanating from reflections and contemplations of the invaluable reality of the gospel.
They also drive an essential message of the love of God to man; and the love of God in man. For it is from such active love that all the essential virtues of an abundant and fulfilling life stem from. A life of selfless existence. And of positive contribution to the empowerment and vibrancy of communities. Obert currently live in the United Kingdom where he is described as a minister and performer in splendid class of his own.
Obert has performed at a wide range of events with his backing team, The Trumpet Echoes, for a period extending to over years. And, he has shared the stage with some popular international artists. Some of his delightful love songs, which have become irresistibly popular among diverse audiences include Rudo Rwangu Newe (a song that is more of an interaction between two lovers about their sweet love), and Musavapesanisa (a song that exhorts people not to cause strife between lovers).
On the stages that he has performed, crowds are enthused with awe, admiration and excitement. It would be worth noting that he was a nominee and went on to be awarded on several Music Awards, making him a multi - award winning artist.
Obert Mazivisa has 3 Albums to date.
1. 2002 Debut Album " Munhu Chii" which marked his beginning as a recording artist. The album is estimated to have sold around 500 copies before its production was terminated.
2. 2010 "Come Along" This album was recorded live in London in front of a packed studio audience. This has proved to be the album that made him recognised by many of his followers. This Album was distributed in Zimbabwe and in UK and has sold close to 1500 copies to date. The album has most of crowd favourite songs.
3. 2014 I Fly Higher this is the current album which is proving to be a hit and is more likely to be the best so far. Praise, Worship, Exhortation, Edification, Encouraging & Comfort are key words that describe the 3rd album from this gifted worshiper, singer, song writer, performer. Back again with more scriptural interwoven lyrics, and percolating rhythms. Same passion, different sound.
Obert Mazivisa has been in several music projects including ZIMPRAISE, ZIGMA and FREE TO WORSHIP in which he was also a director.

1. Baba We Are Waiting recorded with Free To Worship and it has gone around the world in many churches. It has a combined YouTube Views of over 100k.
2. Komborerai Mafaro recorded live with his own group Trumpet Echoes. has almost 28k views on you tube.
3. Meso recorded live has been on Youtube for about 8 months and has over 11k views.
4. I Fly Higher is a new album title track which has proved to be a hit song on all performances. It has no video as yet but will have one very soon. The album has an audio video of "Reveal To Me" which is a devotional song on I Fly higher album and has over 3k views.

TRUMPET ECHOES MUSIC
Obert Mazivisa founded Trumpet Echoes Music (TEM) as his backing music group and a Music Label in 1997 in Harare, Zimbabwe. Trumpet Echoes Music has managed to groom or help artists and musicians who are still involved in successful in music industry. TEM is the Label handling all of Obert Mazivisa's music activities.
2015 MEGA DEAL
2015 has marked another milestone for Obert Mazivisa as he signed a deal with one of the most influential music guru in United Kingdom Gospel music Mr Roy Francis.
