7 Arts Theatre in Avondale

All roads lead to the 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale, Harare tonight for the potentially explosive Ignition Concert featuring high-riding and crowd favourite award winning musicians Winky D and Jah Prayzah, who will be out to prove their man of the moment tags, as they take turns to entertain revellers at the popular venue.

The Disappear and Eriza hit makers will be supported by rhumba musician, Lady ‘Eriza’ Storm born Lyn Magodo, who has become popular after featuring on Jah Prayzah’s Eriza video off his album Jerusalema.

The dancehall star Winky D, born Wallace Chirimuko, is currently riding high with his 10-singles compilation album titled Gafa Life that is receiving fair play on both local radio stations and public gatherings.

Tickets for the concert are available in Harare at Sopranos Restaurant in Avondale, Talk City at Joina City, Penny Wise and all Red Rose hair salons selling at $15 advance, $20 VIP and $25 at the door.

Dandaro Inn, Harare Showgrounds

Sounds of Motherland frontman Progress Chipfumo stages his second show of the year tonight at Dandaro Inn, after his turbulent United Kingdom tour that saw him getting stranded when the show promoter reportedly abandoned him and other local artistes who were part of The One Nation, One People’s tour. The Tsiurika singer will be supported by Walter ‘Sodza’ Sonayi and The Vibrant Sounds band. Sonayi is riding high with his recent third album titled Six Bullets.

Tomorrow the joint hosts sungura ace Peter Moyo and Utakataka Express alongside dancehall chanter Bontoman and Talking Guitars. This is a free show as the Mavanga singer will be paying tribute to the award-winning promoter Partson Chimbodza of Chipaz Promotions who is the proprietor of the joint. On Sunday it will be the Hangover Sunday’s concert featuring Nesto and DJ Cavassy as they will take turns to entertain patrons at the venue.

The Volt

Sulumani Chimbetu’s Dendera Kings resume live shows this weekend starting with a performance at The Volt, formerly Book Café, tonight. Popular wheel spinners Flevah and Garry B will be rocking it on the turntables. Tomorrow they will entertain patrons in Greencroft at Plaza De Castilla before wrapping up their shows on Sunday with a gig at Spillway Pub and Restaurant along Harare-Bulawayo Road, supported by reggae artistes Jeffari and Cello Culture.

Old Mutual Theatre, Alliance Francaise

Celebrated mbira diva Hope Masike and her live band tonight serenade revellers at Old Mutual Theatre, Alliance Française. The 2016 Kora All-Africa Awards nominee has travelled the globe, performing in different countries showcasing her mbira playing skills. Fans are guaranteed a top notch performance.

Patsime Night Club

Raunchy dancer Beverly Sibanda and her Sexy Angels start their weekend shows tonight with a performance at Patsime at Huruyadzo Shopping Centre in St Mary’s, Chitungwiza. Tomorrow they will be in Kambuzuma for a show at Perv Liquorama before rounding up their shows with a dance clash featuring rival dancer Zoey Sifelani and her Red Angels, Bulawayo-based Girls La, Digital One Queens and Lady Storm at Holly’s Hotel in Harare.

The Café B 5

Celebrated musician Progress Chipfumo and his Sounds of Motherland tomorrow entertain patrons at The Café B 5 Night Club located at Budiriro 5 shops in the capital. On Sunday the recently refurbished joint hosts Dancehall Session featuring an array of dancehall artistes alongside talented wheel spinner DJ Cables on the turntables.

Joy Centre, Highfield

Sungura musician Alick Macheso and his Orchestra Mberikwazvo resume their 2016 live shows with a performance tonight at Joy Centre, Machipisa Shopping Centre in Highfield suburb. The show is dubbed Tsoka Dzerwendo Outreach.

Club Manucho

Crowd favourite, rising and talented rhumba artiste Lady ‘Eriza’ Storm who has become popular after featuring on Jah Prayzah’s Eriza video tomorrow entertains patrons at Club Manucho in Waterfalls. On Sunday the joint hosts popular dancer Zoe Sifelani supported by her Red Angels queens

Mbizo Inn, Kwekwe

Dancehall meets sungura tonight at Mbizo Inn in Kwekwe as musician Peter Moyo and Utakataka Express alongside Tocky Vibes entertains patrons at the joint. The ‘Young Igwe’, as Peter is fondly referred to by his legions of fans will be in Southlea Park on Sunday for a performance at Cadula Bar Maximum 8. Newsday
