Controversial dancer Beverly "Bev" Sibanda will embark on a three-week tour of South Africa next week.

Bev's manager Hapaguti "Harpers" Mapimhidze told the Daily News that the tour was being facilitated by Cape Town-based Jimalo Entertainment.

"We have found a new lucrative market in South Africa. We are holding our farewell gig on Sunday at Holly's Hotel in Harare as we are leaving for Cape Town on February 24.

"We will perform in Cape Town alongside Maskiri on February 27 at CTICC Marimba before another two shows in Gemiston on February 4 and March 5.

"On March 9 and 10 we will be performing in Johannesburg," said Mapimhidze. Bev's manager added that they are grateful to music promoter and businessman James "Jimmy Jimalo" MacAdams for introducing them to the South African market.

"Jimalo was the first person to invite Bev to South Africa a few years ago and since then we have built a mutually beneficial relationship.

"I am happy that we have built a big fan base across the Limpopo because of Jimalo's efforts," he said. Mapimhidze is happy with the increase in Bev's concerts in other countries.

"Bev is gaining a lot of attention beyond Zimbabwe since her maiden tour of the United Kingdom last year. "She is now receiving a lot of invitations to perform in such countries as Australia.

"Bev is opening doors for other Zimbabwean dancers in foreign markets and am sure other dancers will be invited too thanks to Bev's good performances in these countries," he said.

Due to a pressing schedule, Mapimhidze said Bev has put on hold work on her forthcoming second music album.

Bev announced her entry into Zimbabwean music in 2012 when she released the album Tapinda which featured South African music star Freddy Gwala and Congolese chanter Gift "Shiga Shiga" Katulika on the song Tshaingoma.

The song was number 27 in the 2013 edition of the National FM Top 50.
