Zlatan Ibrahimovic has hinted at a potential move to Manchester United and praised the club's decision to approach Jose Mourinho.

The Swedish striker is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires at the end of June and is understood to have agreed a one-year deal with United.

An official confirmation, however, has not yet been issued so reporters put the question directly to him when he faced them in Sweden on Thursday.

When asked about a move to Old Trafford, he responded: "Let's see what happens." The main draw for the 34-year-old is believed to be incoming United manager Mourinho.

The pair worked together at Inter Milan and Ibrahimovic is confident the ex-Chelsea man is a good fit for the club.He said: “It’s a great move. If you want action, you bring in Mourinho.

"I believe he is the man to take them back to the top. "Wherever he went he has won. He knows what he is doing. If you want to win, you bring Mourinho."

The former Barcelona striker also revealed he has spoken to his old manager continuously since leaving the San Siro.

“I have been speaking with him every day since I left Inter," said Zlatan. "There is no secret, I have a great relationship with Mourinho and we have been in contact but not the last week, we have been talking for many years so that’s it. What do you want to know? Tell me?”

He added: "I don't give guarantees [but] I had a fantastic time working with Jose at Inter. If we work together again, I don't know. “I have concrete offers from England, Italy, from all countries. The future is already written. I have made my choice.”

It was also put to Ibrahimovic that there have been questions over whether he would be suited to the Premier League, given his age.

He replied: "I am only warming up. I had a fantastic season and proved age is just a number. "Everything is in your head - whatever you want to do, you will do it.

"If I want to make it, I will make it. I am not worried."
