Addressing thousands of people during this year’s edition of Judgment Night 4, Prophet Makandiwa said people cannot claim to be blessed when they are only using the United States dollar, a foreign currency.

“Some people requested to hear my view on bond notes and I told them that we should use our own currency for God to bless us,” he said. The charismatic prophet also said Africans should not depend on foreign investors, rather they should exploit Africa’s natural resources.

Tourism Minister, Walter Mzembi says Zimbabweans should stop being dependent on prophets but stick to the Bible.

“There’s nothing new on earth. Fellow citizens you now seem so dependent on prophets but the greatest prophesy is the Word itself – the Bible. But you people want to pay for prophesy, you want to hear it from man.”

“We’re in sixes and sevens today in Zimbabwe because of many of us who think they’re hearing from God, when in fact it’s the Devil calling! Use the right and legitimate exchange, Jesus Christ!”

“Bow down in prayer as the Bible supersedes all prophesy! Prophets come and go, the Word stays, even if its authors are gone, the Word stayed.” The minister was speaking in Gwanda at the gospel Music Festival.

Sadc must intervene in the escalating Zimbabwean crisis and facilitate a smooth transition of power in the country, a group of international elders — Graca Machel, Kofi Annan and Desmond Tutu — have urged.

GOVERNMENT will today deploy security forces to quell mass demonstrations organised by a coalition of opposition parties joining forces to push for electoral reforms and change — should the protest turn violent — as pressure mounts on President Robert Mugabe to reform or quit, it has been established.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) yesterday refused to grant permission to the 18 political parties under the auspices of the National Election Reform Agenda and the Coalition of Democrats to march in the streets of Harare, prompting the parties to approach the High Court.

Justice Hlekani Mwayera, who heard the urgent matter, is expected to make a ruling at 8am today, but protest organisers insist the demonstration will forge ahead, setting the stage for violent confrontation like what happened on Wednesday in Harare.
