These are blow by blow details of how Nelson Mandela's grandson, Mbuso Mandela, allegedly raped a 15 year old girl as contained in a police statement signed by Lieutenant Dithoso Mmako of Hillbrow police's investigating unit.

"The victim, a minor female, was in the company of two friends, also minors, at Mamas Restaurant in Greenside,Johannesburg, where they attended an arranged event," the statement reads. One of whom introduced himself to the victim as 'Mbuso Mandela'. 

After a conversation of about five minutes, the three males asked the three females to go with them to another place, but they declined. As the males persisted to convince the girls to go with them, the victim called the host, who came and told the males that the three girls will not go with them. 

After the girls moved inside the premises, the boys later joined them at their table. During a conversation, the accused exchanged cellphone numbers with the victim. The victim and the accused were passing through a dark passage when the accused grabbed the victim and pulled her toward him, telling her to kiss him.

Braxton touched down at the Harare International Airport on Wednesday night and will perform at the Borrowdale Racecourse alongside the iconic musician-cum-producer Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds. THE Mr Ugly contest that had suffered a stillbirth due to financial constraints is back after organisers secured funding for the popular event, the pageant’s founder, David Machowa has said.

The pageant could not be held last year as the organisers failed to secure sponsors despite the pageant’s popularity.

Although he was reluctant to disclose the package, Machowa told NewsDay yesterday that the pageant will be held in October in Harare.

“The game is on. This year is another story. I have secured funding for the pageant and preparations have begun.

The event will take place in October. I will announce the dates and venue in due course for the organising team is working on something,” he said. He said they were currently registering interested participants and distributing fliers to advertise the return of the unique pageant.

The troubled sungura maestro believes that the media has amplified the Zim dancehall genre and its artistes by creating “columns” for it at the expense of sungura, which saw him crowned king.

“. . . people believe what they read. If you tell them that Pasuwa (Callisto) is the best coach in the country or that so and so is the best player in the country, they will go with that.

“You (the media) created columns for Zim dancehall, a thing you did not do for sungura, and made everyone believe the genre (dancehall) is the in thing and yes these are the results,” lamented Macheso.

A SOUTH African king who is visiting Zimbabwe has apologised for the xenophobic attacks that took place in his country earlier this year, describing the attacks on foreigners as a regrettable episode in the continent’s history. 

King Bungane III of the royal Kingdom of Embo sent out a profound condolence message to families of the victims of the horrific attacks in isiZulu.

Ironically, the attacks are reported to have been triggered by statements by another South African king, Goodwill Zwelithini of the Zulu Kingdom, who was also expected in Zimbabwe together with his Embo counterpart, but opted out at the last minute.

King Zwelithini’s daughter Princess Nonkosi, however, graced the event.

King Bungane is in Zimbabwe for a wedding of a family friend held yesterday in Gwanda, and is expected to attend the official opening of a 1 000-seater Brethren-in-Christ church in the same town today.

HARARE – Partson “Chipaz” Chimbodza, who is promoting Nigerian star Davido’s maiden concert set for Belgravia Sports Club in Harare tomorrow, has refuted claims that he paid $100 000 to bring the Skelewu singer to Zimbabwe.

According to rates previously availed by HKN Music, co-owned by Davido and his elder brother Ade, to another Zimbabwean promoter, it costs at least $100 000 to hire Davido and his 12-member strong band.

Additionally, the interested promoter has to pay for five business class air tickets and seven economy class tickets as well as two executive suites and 10 standard rooms.

Once in the host country, Davido requires two SUVs and a luxury bus in addition to two personal body guards.

The promoter who hires Davido must also pay a daily per diem of $100 for all the 12 members of his band.

If a promoter opts to bring only Davido and a DJ, he has to part with $60 000.

We've learned Judge Joe is currently in custody after being sentenced to 5 days for contempt of court.  

Joe was acting as a lawyer in March 2014 -- representing someone in a child support case. When he showed up in court and the clerk informed him they had no record of the case, he lost it, screaming Al Pacino style.

Girl, 12, hanged herself after losing her mother to breast cancer

A 12-year-old schoolgirl whose mother died of breast cancer killed herself after posting self-harm pictures on Instagram, an inquest has heard.

Isabel Ann Richardson, from Norwich, was struggling with feelings she was 'worthless' and 'empty' after losing her mother Karina to the disease in 2010.

But despite speaking to a school nurse at Hewett School, she was overcome by her sadness and on May 12, discovered hanging in her bedroom by her father. 

Earlier that evening, Isabel's father Stephen Richardson was called by her brother about distressing images she had posted online.

Entering her bedroom to check on her, he found her hanging and she was rushed to hospital. She died six days later, the Eastern Daily Press reported. 

The inquest at Norfolk Coroner's Court heard Isabel had told her father about the self harming five weeks prior to her death. After he was informed, the two began speaking to a school nurse and were referred to bereavement service Nelson's Journey.

Nigerian man files for divorce over wife's alleged sexual escapades on social media

An Ekiti based businessman identified as Muyiwa Owolabi, has filed for divorce from his wife of over 10 years, Tinuola Owolabi, following allegations that she engages in sexual escapades with men she meets on social media.

According to a report by Vanguard, Muyiwa in his divorce papers which he filed at an Ado Ekiti Customary Court, stated that his wife and mother of his two children use social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp to connect with many men who are now her 'man friends & concubines.'

Muyiwa who appeared before the court yesterday August 25th, presented printouts of his wife's communications and pictures with different men, including messages where his wife and her supposed man friends were exchanging pictures of their private parts.

Four Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) detective sergeants allegedly linked to PHD founder, Prophet Walter Magaya are being investigated following a complaint of assault and torture by Upenyu Mashangwa who is embroiled in a dispute with the PHD leader.

The ZRP General Headquarters Internal Investigations Department has instigated the investigations.

It is alleged that the four detective sergeants, under instruction from Prophet Magaya, assaulted and tortured the Ocean Perfumes boss, Upenyu Mashangwa’s two minor children and four domestic workers.

Business came to a standstill in Harare yesterday when one of the world’s tallest men, Mr Bilal Heyder, toured the central business district before visiting the Exhibition Park for the agricultural show.

Mr Heyder was in a convoy sponsored by Splash Paints, a company exhibiting at the Harare Agricultural Show.

People lined up the streets to see the tall man while others peeped through the windows of high rise buildings to catch a glimpse of him. Others were shouting questions to him inquiring on the size of his shoe, jacket and bed.

The tallest man is 29-year-old Sultan Kösen of Ankara,Turkey whose height stood at 2,51m as of February 8 2011.

Oscar Pistorius shot dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp deliberately, her parents said, ahead of an appeal hearing in which prosecutors are seeking to overturn a South African court ruling that the athlete was not guilty of murder. 

Pistorius, 28, was found guilty last September of culpable homicide, the equivalent of manslaughter, after Judge Thokozile Masipa said state prosecutors had failed to prove the Paralympic gold medallist had shown "intent" to kill.

The state argued throughout the six-month trial that Pistorius had deliberately killed Steenkamp when he fired four rounds through a locked toilet door where she was hiding after a row. Pistorius says he believed an intruder was inside the toilet cubicle.

Prosecutors filed an appeal last week asking for the verdict to be changed to murder. They argue Pistorius must have known when he fired that the person behind the door could be killed, even if he did not know it was Steenkamp. The appeal hearing is due to start in November.

Leonie Müller, 23, has decided to live on a train because she has had enough with landlords and high rent. After a row with her landlord, the student at Tübingen University near Stuttgart decided to pack her bags, invest in a monthly railway season ticket and relocate to a train around Germany.

She moved her things on to a train in spring after a dispute with her landlord about her apartment, she told The Washington Post.

“I instantly decided I didn’t want to live there any more,” she said. “And then I realised: actually, I didn’t want to live anywhere any more.”

AN American non-profit group, Cultures in Harmony (CiH), is in the country to foster partnerships that will benefit Zimbabweans as well as produce the first-ever symphony orchestra performance of Oliver Mtukudzi.

The visit is an anniversary project dubbed Passacaglia which is aimed at taking skills to six countries that the group has already worked in during its 10-year existence.

CiH founder and executive director William Harvey said compositions for Mtukudzi’s songs which will be performed at the Music Camp Orchestra scheduled for next week in Harare have since started.

“We are here to affirm the common ties between Zimbabweans and Americans through the universal language of music,” said Harvey.

Nigeria: EFCC chairman accused of diverting N1trillion loot recovered from corrupt politicians

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde, has been accused of diverting over N1tn recovered from corrupt politicians who forfeited their loots. A man named George Uboh recently petitioned the Senate, accusing the chairman of the anti-graft agency of diverting money recovered from corrupt politicians including former Governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha; and ex-Inspector-General of Police, Tafa Balogun.

The Senate having received the petition which was dated July 31st, ordered its Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions to investigate the allegations. Both the petitioner and Mr Lamorde have been invited to appear by the Senate committee at Meeting Room 120 of the New Senate Building, National Assembly Complex, on Wednesday August 26th for some questioning.

A Zaka teacher has appeared in court for allegedly having s-ex with a minor (15) at the school whom he allegedly ravaged every lunch hour on the guise that she will be doing some chores at the teacher’s house.

Tawanda Zinyemba (33), of Ngwere Secondary School, Chief Ndanga’s area in Zaka has appeared before the Masvingo Provincial Magistrate, Bishard Chineka facing charges of having s-exual intercourse with an under-age.

The accused is being represented by Isaac Muzenda of Muzenda and Partners.

The State alleges that Zinyemba who is an Agriculture teacher at the school initially gave the complainant numerous tasks including ferrying books to his house for marking. The accused allegedly proposed love to the complainant in the process and this was turned down.

ZBC fires more workers

HARARE – The struggling Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) on Saturday fired more workers with managers, newsreaders, journalists, engineers and internal security personnel all being targeted. It’s not clear how many workers were sacked but estimates say 50 to 100 workers were shown the door yesterday.

Last week the state broadcaster, heavily controlled by Zanu PF, sacked 400 workers and closed its Gweru-based Voice of Zimbabwe station. It also shut down its second television channel following the dismissal of its workers.

This now means close to 500 workers have lost their jobs at ZBC since a Supreme Court ruling last month allowing employers to terminate employment contracts on three months notice.

HARARE – Nigerian music superstar Davido says he will create waves that will break the anchors of revellers and send them into a tailspin when he descends on Belgravia Sports Club in Harare this Saturday. 

His performance on August 29 comes exactly three years after his fellow countrymen, Peter and Paul Okoye of the duo P-Square held a sold-out gig in the capital.

Zim student in the UK rakes up impressive 8A’s for her GCSE

UNITED KINGDOM – Sixteen-year-old Fadzai Ramwi, originally from Zimbabwe, is the toast of Baylis Court School in Slough after racking up an impressive 8A’s and 1B for her GCSEs (General Certificate of Secondary Education) – (O’ Levels). Two of her A’s were A* (A-star).

The ambitious teenager, the daughter of devout Christians Abigail and Kanisio Ramwi, says she wants to become a barrister after studying at either Oxford or Cambridge University.

BULAWAYO – HighlandAccording to reports Khumalo, who died in his sleep at a Bulawayo hospital early Sunday morning, succumbed to a long battle with diabetes. He was admitted there on Wednesday before his death.

The Highlanders welfare manager was in June admitted to the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) after he fell ill. At the time club chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede confirmed Khumalo was not feeling well after complaining of nausea.
